In September 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 1008, which introduces key improvements to the legal and social protection of Ukrainian educators — including those currently working abroad due to war-related displacement.
I was honoured to contribute to this result as a member of the governmental working group led by Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk. Our team worked to align legislation with today’s realities and prepare the groundwork for sustainable reintegration of displaced professionals.
Why this matters in Switzerland:
Hundreds of Ukrainian teachers currently working in Swiss learning centres, and volunteer-led initiatives will now have their experience officially recognized upon return. They will receive full credit for their teaching service abroad Ukraine.
This reform supports a dignified path home, encouraging educators to stay professionally active and deeply engaged in the host country while preserving their rights back in Ukraine.
Let’s continue building frameworks where integration and reintegration go hand-in-hand.
